Ian Waller makes a return in April this time to talk about "Name Rich Resources Prior to the 1841 Census". This meeting is on Tuesday 8th April in the Eghams Room at Bourne End Community Centre.

Throughout history officialdom has created lists of people on a regular basis. The pre 1841 census returns, Posse Comitatus, tax lists rate books etc. which have existed since time immemorial identify our ancestors in specific places and are a great help in locating family events. This talk looks at a variety of records available to find you ancestors.

Ian is a retired professional genealogist and has authored several books in the Society’s “My Ancestor” series including My Ancestor was an Agricultural Labourer, My Ancestor was a Mormon, My Ancestor was in the Royal Navy and My Ancestor was a Leather Worker and have also written “Family History Research Challenges and how to solve them” and “Introducing Manorial Records” published by Family History Books.

He taught Family History at both basic and advanced levels at various adult education centres in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire and currently lecture and run workshops at many family history societies, U3A Groups and other organisations interested in local, social and family history
