For our February meeting Phil Isherwood will discuss Sources, Evidence and Proof for Family Historians on 10th February.
The sources we rely on for our family histories provide information, but the analysis of that information, the extraction of evidence and formulation into proof is seldom talked about in genealogy circles, especially in the UK. This talk will discuss sources, information and evidence, how to categorise them and use them effectively to solve family history problems. It will introduce the Genealogical Proof Standard and answer the question “What is Proof?”
Phil Isherwood is a family history speaker and writer alongside his full-time career in the software industry. He brings a passion for best-practice methods and innovative technology to his genealogical research.
Phil is a contributor to Family Tree magazine, a Family History Advisor for Oxfordshire Family History Society and co-founder of Pro-Am Genies, a networking group for professional and aspiring pro genealogists.

This is a talk run by the Buckinghamshire Family History Society in the Eghams Room at Bourne End Community Centre starting at 19:45 (doors open at 19:30).
Visitors are very welcome. Entrance is free for members or £2 for non-members (or why not take out an annual membership from as little as £6).
