Finds on Slate Meadow dating back 8,000 years are the leading story on the front page of the June/July issue and it’s very exciting to think that our little meadow is home to history from those early days.

Hopefully the finds will be exhibited to allow everyone to see how important one little meadow is in the grand historical picture.

Applause for Harry Kimber who raised money for the National Autistic Society by walking to Marlow, and taking a copy of Target for the achievement photo. Harry was diagnosed as autistic when he was 28 and the diagnosis opened up a new world of understanding that had been lacking. Support from family and friends recognised Harry’s achievement. A new stamp offer and this one is versatile so ‘first come, first served’. The previous offer on pictorial first class stamps is still available. This has been a tremendous fund raiser for Target.

The Community Centre pages are packed with posters of future events and one picture showed the volunteers who set up Bourne End’s Repair Café. Note the Summer Fete on 19 July with lots to do and enjoy. Belly dancing is one feature and certainly worth a try. There’s a report from Bourne End Angling Club along with Forum Players’ “Not your average Quiz Night’.
