Here is the June/July issue of Bourne End's community magazine "Target"
.
Star chess player at 86 years of age features on the front of this issue and you have to cheer for this Wooburn Green man. Well done Doug. On a more serious note there are further details about development plans proposed in the new Local Plan. Read them and check out the map inside. They drastically affect some of the loveliest green spaces on hillsides between Bourne End and Wooburn Green.
Follow on through to the Community Centre pages with lots of events for the summer months including a Community Day in July. On through the issue there are details of lovely events organised by schools, parish council and churches. Make a note of the dates and realise how much fun you can have without travelling away from your local area. It’s the time of the year to stay close to home with friends and neighbours.
Two stories on page 12 feature a new company taking over the Another Answer and a ‘roving reporter’ looking out for future stories to go into Target. Then on page 14 there are two events organised by the Friends of Bourne End Library. One is the official opening of the stained glass window in the children’s library and their plans for an author interview with bubbles and nibbles – not to be missed.

A pottery café at the Lemon Tree is featured on page 15 and it’s a fun idea that is sure to catch on for a wide range of events. Pages of pictures from events follow and remind readers what a good time was had by all. On page 23 we meet the new river reporter, already a familiar face on the riverside, and read his report. Thank you for stepping into the role Andy.
On page 29 there are memories of Bourne End from someone who spent their childhood enjoying the fun of a being a youngster just after the Second World War. Not to be missed. Past Times on page 32 talks about a coincidence and offers the chance to win a newly published book from a visitor who went on to become an editor and now runs his own company.
Plenty of other stories in this issue which make it a good ready for the summer months.
Target Magazine is published every 2 months by Bourne End (Bucks) Community Association and is distributed free to around 5,000 households.
Target Magazine is a great way for local businesses to reach directly into local households.
