In February we are pleased to have Peter Lawrence talk about using postcards as a source of Local History. The talk is on Thursday 18th Feb 2021 at 20:00. This is an online talk delivered via Zoom.
This talk draws on a selection of photographic images from the late Victorian period to the recent past. They offer snapshots of life and the examples chosen can be used to reflect the local environment anywhere in the country at a time, not so long ago.
Peter was a police officer in East London later Royalty & Diplomatic Protection at Scotland Yard and is now a history lecturer and adult education tutor with NADFAS, Denman College (W.I.), U3A and National Trust Associations.
Bourne End Schools later known as Claytons School in the early 20th Century.
