The New Royalty Cinema

C4A 2019 Certificate 750pxCinema returned to Bourne End with the opening of The New Royalty Cinema in 2018. This Community Cinema project has monthly screenings in the May Woollerton Hall at Bourne End Community Centre. Everyone is welcome and tickets can be purchased online or in advance at the Community Centre Office or on the door if seats are available.

The New Royalty received commendation in the Cinema For All Film Society of the Year Awards 2018 and again in 2019 for Best New Society. As we are no longer "new" we cannot be commended again!

The New Royalty Cinema is a Community Cinema run by volunteers from Bourne End Community Association. The New Royalty Cinema is a member of Cinema For All and is a fund raising event for Bourne End Community Association.

20190726 The Dish To celebrate 50 years since man first walked on the moon our July film is "The Dish". The Dish is the story of how a lowly radio telescope in Parkes, in the southern state of New South Wales in Australia, was upgraded in 1969 to transmit the live pictures of the Apollo 11 moon landing for NASA. This film is packed full of humour and admiration at the enormity of what was being attempted.

20190608 mamma mia - here we go againMamma Mia! Here We Go Again is both a prequel and a sequel to the original film showing us Donna's life before Sophie was born and Sophie's life after her mother has passed on. This screening is part of the Community Centre's Open Day on 8th June. It starts earlier at 19:00 with a BBQ from 17:00 (extra charge). This is a Sing-Along screening, we'll provide the words, ready for you to join in with all your favourite ABBA songs!

20190523 RearWindow2 100pxwIn May, as part of our Classic Cinema we will be screening "Rear Window" in which a wheelchair-bound photographer spies on his neighbors from his apartment window and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder. *** Note the date has changed from 23rd to 16th May ***

20190426 Eye In The Sky "Eye in the Sky" is our film on Friday 26th April 2019 which depicts the issues and challenges of modern drone led warfare. The cast includes Hellen Mirren and Alan Rickman in what was his last screen role.

20190324 Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society Sunday 24th March 2019 is the date for the screening of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society at The New Royalty Cinema.
