Eccentric lottery winner Charles invites Herb McGwyer, one half of a former folk duo, to perform for a select audience on his remote island home off the coast of Wales.

A bittersweet British comedy-drama, The Ballad of Wallis Island follows the events surrounding Herb’s arrival on the island and the discovery that his former musical partner and ex-lover, Nell Mortimer, will also be there. Starring Tom Basden, Tim Key, Carey Mulligan and Sian Clifford, the film covers themes of grief and resentment, and the power of music to aid healing.
