target v53i2 201704 frontcoverWakeman Road’s car park features on the front page with changes in the way you pay for parking. As signs are limited and people unaware that there were problems with the previous system Target endeavours to help motorists and advise them on the new procedure before they drive and park.

Westfield School’s new Forest School arrangements fill part of the front page and continue on page 28. Fabulous for the children and designed to challenge young minds – a digging area, mud kitchen and a bog area are just some of the features.

A police warning on scams is on page 2 and well worth a read and be aware in case it could happen to you.

On page 8 Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council discuss a wide range of subjects from vandalism in Peggs allotments to Trout in the parish council offices. More news on the trout in a later issue as they grow and eventually get released into the River Wye.

Two London Marathon runners feature on page 10 while the fashion show fundraiser for Keep Bourne End Green appears on page 11. On page 13 the horses on Slate Meadow were threatened but an interview with the owner tells the full story.

Lenten Lunches at St Dunstan’s Church are on page 18 along with Katie Lamb’s environmental update. All the sports club news is on page 19. A 50th anniversary celebration for the Thames Decorative and Fine Arts Society appears on page 23 as the May Woollerton Hall at the Community Centre provided space for a buffet lunch in celebration.

Then another 50th anniversary features on pages 26 and 27 as the library reflects on those years and plans a special celebration during May.

In Past Times on page 34 two lovely school photos from the 1920s and a football team picture from the same era were sent in and come with lots of names. The Community Centre pages on 36 and 37 have a poster of the next big event along with details of the two centreTalks and the bands appearing in centreJazz.

Another good read and a quiz to challenge over the Easter holiday.
