It's back, the great historical time piece that never fails to amuse anyone, it's perfect in every way same as before, the dialogues the intriguing stories overlapping each other and most importantly tying loose ends of all plots and storylines bringing it to a new level.

It's wonderfully crafted with the beautiful Panoramic shots of the Downton along side with gorgeous dresses and the costume design and set design is one of the best. It's still as elegant and perfect down to each and every gestures and body movements of the people to the way they all act just depicts perfectly as before.
Resembling back the cast was just wonderful, along side with Maggie Smith, she's just wonderful in every way and on cracking form with her pithy one-liners and withering looks as Violet Crawley, the Dowager Duchess.
George V and Queen Mary on their tour of Yorkshire are stopping off at Downton on their way to Harewood House, another gorgeous country house in Yorkshire. Problem for the staff though is the Royals bring their own Royal staff for continuity, and they have a habit of just taking over. Now many a staff member would like to take a break and read a book suggests David Haig's Mr Wilson, the Page of the Back Stairs, the Royal title for a Butler. But our Downton Abbey staff aren't going to lie down and allow others to just take over the running of their house on this special occasion. The Beamish Museum provided an amazing ready made set with its railway, trams and Edwardian style shops and street.

Tickets should be purchased online (follow the link in the film summary on this page). If you are unable to purchase online, tickets can be obtained from the Community Centre office but cash will not be accepted. Tickets will not be available on the door.

COVID-19 social distancing requirements - please read before making a purchase
Each booking is for 1 to 4 people and all people covered by the booking will be seated together at a single table. If you are booking less than 4 seats no other bookings will be taken for that table so NO ONE ELSE WILL SIT AT YOUR TABLE. If you wish to book more than 4 seats then you will need to make multiple bookings of up to 4 people in each.
It is a legal requirement that all people attending must wear a face mask or shield. We will attempt to seat any person with a legal exemption 2m from other tables but this cannot be guaranteed. It is also a legal requirement to provide your contact details when entering the Community Centre. This will be done as part of the ticket booking process. When you enter the cinema just give your name so we can confirm that you have arrived.
Bar service will be provided by us before the film starts with payment by Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card, preferably contactless. No cash will be accepted. After entering the cinema there will be no access to the bar before or during the film. You are welcome to visit the bar before entering the cinema and to bring drinks in with you. It will not be possible to purchase drinks during the film. The kitchen will not be open.
Do not arrive at the venue before 13:40. Entrance to the cinema will be via the side door to the right of the Target Room, please observe the distancing markings on the floor. Everyone must use the hand sanitiser provided on entry. Do not enter the Centre via the foyer except to use the bar before entering the cinema (you will need to follow the bar exit path and enter the cinema via the side door). If wet please wait in your car and/or bring an umbrella - you will not be able to enter the foyer to keep dry.
On arrival do not join the queue until everyone who will sit at your table has arrived, everyone sitting on your table should queue together. Your party will be assigned a table to sit at by our volunteers. No negotiation on table allocation will be entered into. This is to ensure we get people seated as safely as possible. Once seated you should not leave your table until the film has finished. If you need a toilet visit one of our volunteers will assist you to and from your seat.
We apologise for the above requirements but they are for the safety of all our cinema goers and our volunteers. Please bring your own paper and pen in case you wish to provide feedback which we encourage.
